Call for Expression of Interest – Researcher

Within the framework of the Action “Research – Innovate” of the “Competitiveness” Programme (NSRF 2021–2027), the company PharmaGnose Biotechnological S.A. intends to recruit temporary research personnel for the implementation needs of the approved research project entitled:

“Exploitation of plants of the Greek flora for the production of food products with health-protective properties”

(Acronym: Taste-Detox & Application Code: EKPAR01-0067131),

which is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union and by National Funds.

The Taste-Detox project focuses on the exploitation of plants from the Greek and Mediterranean flora for the development of innovative food products with scientifically documented health-protective effects. In this context, activities are implemented that include the development and optimization of green extraction techniques for plant raw materials, the phytochemical characterization of extracts and isolated compounds using modern analytical methods, as well as the evaluation of their bioactivity in appropriate in vitro experimental models.

To support the above activities, the company intends to recruit one (1) Researcher, who will join the project’s research team and actively contribute to the implementation of the Work Packages related to the extraction of natural products, their analytical characterization, and their biological evaluation.

The employment duration will be one (1) year, with the possibility of extension depending on project needs and funding availability. The type of contract may be either a fixed-term employment contract or a project-based service contract, in accordance with the approved physical and financial scope of the Action.

The Researcher will join the project’s research team and will actively participate in activities related to the development, application, and optimization of green and conventional extraction techniques for plant raw materials of the Greek flora, within the framework of scaling up laboratory processes to pilot scale.

Specifically, the Researcher will contribute to the phytochemical characterization of extracts and isolated compounds using advanced high-resolution analytical techniques, as well as to the isolation and purification of bioactive constituents using chromatographic methods. In parallel, they will participate in the design and execution of in vitro experimental assays for the evaluation of the antioxidant and biological activity of selected extracts and compounds, in accordance with the project’s research protocols.

The scope of the position also includes the documentation, analysis, and scientific presentation of research results, as well as contribution to the preparation of technical reports and deliverables provided for in the approved physical scope of the Action.
