We are thrilled to announce the approval of “BioTransform”, a Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network project titled:
“Mapping the Uncharted Human Metabolism for Novel Food Bioactives.”

This groundbreaking initiative focuses on understanding the metabolism of food bioactives and their impact on human health. Coordinated by the University of Antwerp (Prof. Nina Hermans), BioTransform brings together 9 universities and 7 partners to explore how food bioactives (FB) are metabolized by the gut microbiome.

🔍 Through cutting-edge approaches such as human pilot studies, in vitro and in silico models, microbiome sequencing, metabolite synthesis, and metabolomics, several PhD projects will address this exciting challenge.

💡 Beyond advancing scientific knowledge, BioTransform also aims to train the next generation of interdisciplinary researchers in food and health sciences.
